OTTAWA—Canadian legislation to compel digital platforms such as Alphabet Inc.’s YouTube and Bytedance Ltd.’s TikTok, along with streaming services like Netflix Inc., to prominently showcase Canadian programming to users in this country received final parliamentary approval on Thursday.
